Only 5 FREEPilot Places

Automated checks and handheld scanning in place of paper, so you can show your auditor who checked what, and when.

Step one is a free half-day Quality Evidence Walk. Keep the write-up either way.

No charge for the software, set-up or training. Your site supplies the handheld scanners and IT access.

Free, because handheld scanning is new and we want five sites to shape it with us. If it works for you, we would like to tell others about it in a case study.

What you get

  • Handheld scanning

  • One area, one proof of concept

  • Operator training included

  • Support from the founder

  • A before-and-after write-up

  • Your data, yours to export

  • On your schedule

How it works

Every step is booked around your site, at a time that suits you.

  1. Apply

Two minutes, using the form below.

  2. Quality Evidence Walk

A free half-day visit, on a day you choose. We follow one check from the line to sign-off and send you a one-page write-up, which is yours to keep whatever you decide.

  3. A pilot place

If it is a fit, we offer you a pilot place on one area of your site, and aim for your first scan within a month of our first conversation, given the IT access we need.

What we ask, and what happens after

  • An honest testimonial or case study, if it works. It is not a condition of your place.

  • A decision meeting at the end of the pilot.

If it works, you can move onto a paid licence. If it is not right for you, there is no obligation.

Questions

  • Who can apply?

Any manufacturing site that still records at least one quality check on paper. Places are offered by fit, not first come first served: the form asks a few questions about your site so we can judge the fit together.

  • What does it cost?

There is no charge for the software, set-up or training. Your site supplies the handheld scanners and the IT access. If it works and you want to carry on, you can move onto a paid licence.

  • How long until we are scanning?

Within a month of our first conversation, provided we have the IT access we need. The pilot runs on one area of your site, as one proof of concept.

  • What equipment do we need?

Handheld scanners, which your site supplies, and the IT access to set it up. We do the set-up and train your operators.

  • Do we have to stop using paper?

No. We recommend running your paper sheets alongside until you are confident, but that is your call.

  • How much of our time does it take?

As little as we can make it. We do the set-up, and we fit around your shifts, production runs and audits rather than asking you to fit around us.

  • Who owns the data?

You do. If you stop, we export it for you.

  • Is handheld scanning ready now?

Not yet generally available. It is being finished now, the pilot sites will be its first users, and we will confirm it is ready before your pilot starts.

  • What if it is not right for us?

There is no obligation. If the pilot does not work for you, you stop, and that is the end of it.

Who you will work with

You work directly with the person who built Opcela Quality, from the first conversation to your first scan.

Director & Founder

Jacob Allmendinger

Jacob has spent five years building industrial software and kept meeting the same thing: plants running systems written decades ago, with nothing newer available. He founded Opcela to build the alternative. He has a first-class honours degree in software engineering from Sheffield Hallam University, and works across the entire lifecycle, from the initial conversation to a deployed and maintained system.

Apply for a place

Only 5 places are available, because that is all we can handle right now, so apply now. It takes about two minutes. We read every application ourselves, and we reply to applications within 2 working days, then arrange everything around your site's schedule.

This is where the reply goes.

Only if you would rather we rang you.

Where the site the pilot would run on is.

A line is plenty, for example a label check or a metal detector check.

Security check

This confirms your enquiry came from a person rather than from a machine. For nearly everybody it finishes on its own, with nothing to do.

Step one is a free half-day Quality Evidence Walk. Keep the write-up either way.
